MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS







Indian classical music has been in vogue in our country for a long time. Indian classical music has made a special place in the world. It is very famous all over the world. It originated many years ago today, about 5000 years ago its description is also found in our Vedas. Our Indian music is very closely associated with nature. It also has a rich historical tradition, the classical form codified, studied, and elaborated in a very disciplined manner.


  • So let's start with our cultural and classical instruments and see how they originated.


1. Veena
  • Veena is one of the oldest instruments. You must have seen this musical instrument in the hands of Saraswati Ji and Narad Muni also keeps wearing it. It is also mentioned in the Vedas in many places.

  • Amir Khusro Khan [he was a great singer then] also used it and made sitar by mixing veena and banjo. Veena has 4 strings. It is very heavy in weight. There are two forms of Veena, one Vichitra Veena, and the other Rudra Veena.




2. Sitar

  • Sitar is one of the very famous musical instruments all over the world. The national instrument of India is the sitar. The sitar was invented by Amir Khusrau in the 18th century.


  • At the time of its construction, Hindu and Muslim instruments were made by mixing them together, due to which this instrument has a unique history.
  • It has one to five strings. One stringed 'Ektara' in which there are two strings 'Dotara', three strings 'Tintara', four strings 'Chartara', and five strings 'Panchtara'.


3. Tabla

  • Tabla is one of the most famous musical instruments in India. This happens in every musician's house so every musician perfects his voice by matching his voice with the note of the tabla. Tabla is a very important part of music, and because of this, there a tinkering in the music.

  • The tabla was invented by Amir Khusrau in the 18th century. The tabla has two parts, one thick in shape which is held in the left hand, and the other thin in shape which is held in the right hand. It is played by the wrist and fingers of the hand. The tabla is completely made of wood.


4. Basuri

  • The flute is one of the most difficult instruments to play. For it to ring, there should be complete control over the breath and the lungs should be powerful.
  • The flute is mentioned in many places in the Vedas. It is said in the Vedas that Shri Krishna used to play it and this musical instrument was the favorite instrument of Shri Krishna.

                                 
  • Its tune makes everyone's mind sweet and peaceful. The flute is made of bamboo. It has a total of 7 holes. It is played by blowing through the mouth. It is also known as Murli.

5. Shehnai


  • Shehnai is one of the famous musical instruments of India. It is used more in Indian classical music. On the other hand, it is also used in marriage.

  • Shehnai was invented by Ustad Bismillah Khan in the 20th century. Ustad Bismillah Khan was the best shehnai player in the world. The structure of the shehnai is like a pipe. It is used by inhaling through the mouth.
